What Are Home Care Services?
August 30, 2022 4:34 pmHome Care refers to support at home from healthcare professionals that allows people who need additional care to live at home as long as possible. At BallyCara, we offer home care services that make independent living easy, with various levels of support and services available.
What services come with home care?
Home Care services vary based on the type of home care and the level of care needed. However, some of the services offered can include:
- Personal Care
- Shopping and meal preparation
- Assistance to maintain your home in a clean and safe manner
- Social interaction at home and in the community
- Allied Health Services such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy
- Wellness services to promote physical activity, mental stimulation and emotional wellbeing
- Nursing support by Registered Nurses
- Upgrades to the home like grab rails and bathroom aids
- Transport to appointments and shopping
Different types of home care
BallyCara offers three types of home care services: CHSP, HomeCare Packages, and Private Services. Each type suits different levels of care and different government subsidies. The Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) is a program provided to people who require basic assistance to keep living independently in their own home and community, while HomeCare Packages allow customisation for how you spend Government subsidies for support services. BallyCara Private Services offer a privately funded option which also allows you choice and flexibility in your care with no need for Government eligibility.
BallyCara’s unique service offering for CHSP and HCP Clients, Invigorate, are personalised group sessions available in the Moreton Bay and Brisbane North regions. Invigorate embraces your individual background, skills, and passions to offer a range of activities across each month.
In a few years time, some of these home care options will move to a new program called Support at Home.
What is Support at Home?
From July 2024, all help at home programs will be replaced by a single Support at Home Program. The government is hoping this will streamline and standardise the support senior Australians get, which can reduce complexities and difficulty surrounding getting the right care, at the right time, for the right price.
