The Queensland Hibernian Friendly Society is a not-for-profit (charitable) organisation and public benevolent institution. The Society owns and operates the BallyCara Retirement Living and Aged Care Complex at Scarborough in addition to BallyCara HomeCare and the BallyCara Wellness Program.
For over 115 years the Hibernian Society has been committed to serving the community; in particular, disadvantaged people. In 1983 the Society commenced operations of BallyCara Retirement Village and Aged Care Complex at Scarborough and established its ministry of the care of aged people. The activities of the Society are based on the Christian values of faith, hope and love and in adherence with the organisation’s Mission and Philosophy.
The Hibernian Society remains committed to its Mission and current and future Residents and care recipients can take confidence in the fact the Hibernian Society, as an Approved Provider enjoys an excellent record of achievement with all Commonwealth Standards including Accreditation and Certification.
The Hibernian Society is committed to meeting the obligations and requirements inherent on an approved provider.
The organisation is governed by a Board of Directors and an experienced senior management leadership team provides strong support to staff at all levels. All staff are encouraged to develop personally and professionally to enhance their careers with Hibernian.
