Meet Barbara Stewart, one of our homecare package friends with BallyCara on the Gold Coast. Barbara for many years has been socially shy and lacking motivation which has caused her to decline the invitation to group activities. However, due to the beautiful work of our support workers and exercise physiologists, Barbara has been able to improve her social and physical confidence. The first step was taking Barbara to visit the animal welfare refuge on an occasion to do some shopping. An assessment for an electric scooter that Barbara could control independently followed this. Barbara loves driving this around the complex and challenging her husband to keep up with her. As her confidence grew, she commenced one-on-one classes with our EP, Elise, before recently joining the group exercise class at Pimpama. Barbara is now living an active and social lifestyle, and greatly enjoys the activities she takes part in.
