What is BallyCara’s Invigorate Group?

Sarah Robson is our lovely Invigorate Social Support Group Team Leader. Sarah and the Invigorate team are appreciative that they are able to see Clients thrive in this group setting by interacting with each other and actively engaging in each activity.

You may be wondering what Invigorate is and what happens in this group. Invigorate is BallyCara’s Social Support Group/Centre-based Respite at our Scarborough and Wooloowin locations.

It is a chance for Clients to connect with others while participating in activities that stimulate them emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Sessions are varied in nature and can include morning tea outings, BBQ’s, arts and crafts, indoor sport games, movies, sing-along’s, themed events such as Melbourne Cup Day, and outings to museums and libraries.

As we age our usual social circles may become smaller, therefore being a part of a social support group is a fantastic way to stay connected and Invigorate actively encourages positive ageing and wellbeing.

Social support is important for seniors as it can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Social interaction can positively help cognitive health which may prevent the effects of dementia.

How can you or a loved one get involved with BallyCara’s Invigorate Group?

  • For Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) Clients – You will need a centre-based respite or social support group code from My Aged Care
  • Invigorate can also be accessed using your HomeCare Package (HCP)
