Why do I have to pay a monthly service fee?
April 19, 2023 7:58 pmIt’s reasonable to ask ‘why am I charged a monthly service fee.’ We all want to understand what we’re getting when we pay for something!
BallyCara Retirement Village
BallyCara’s Retirement Village is unique, beautifully positioned, and ensures a quality of life that’s convenient, picturesque, and enjoyable. With various sized villas or apartments to choose from, along with an assortment of services and activities to consider, there are options to suit anyone’s personal preferences and budget.
Speaking of budget, we’re all very familiar with general living expenses. Though they are lessened in our golden years, there are still costs associated with daily life and maintaining a property. For our residents, we remove many day-to-day hassles, so they can focus on the more enjoyable moments, such as revelling in our seaside environment on river, bay, and fishing cruises.
What does the monthly service fee include?
Our ongoing monthly service fee includes all rates and taxes (including land tax and GST), insurance premiums and maintenance of the property (including fittings and fixtures existing in the property), and all costs relating to maintenance, renovation, upkeep and cleaning of the village, including gardening, landscaping and pest control costs. All services supplied to common areas are also included: gas, electricity, power, fuel, water, telephone, swimming pool, spa, and gymnasium maintenance, air conditioning, heating, sewerage and garbage services or other services supplied for the benefit of our village.
The cost of maintaining, monitoring and responding to the 24/7 emergency alarm system is also included in this ongoing fee.
This monthly fee ensures that general bills are covered and the property maintained, allowing our residents to relax, living a healthy and happy life, knowing that maintenance and general expenses are all taken care of from their fixed monthly fee.
How often do monthly fees increase at BallyCara?
Because of the broad range of what these fees cover, they may increase from time to time. However, residents are advised at the Annual General Meeting of any increases to the fees and all monthly fees are established in accordance with all legislative requirements.
